The purpose of this Internet site is to examine the climate data for Lincoln, Nebraska in an attempt to determine the recent trends in the data and discover any evidence of "Global Warming" in our local region and any evidence of increased variability in the climate system.  Climatologists call this process "searching for a climate change signal amidst the noise of climate variability".  When possible, trend lines are included on the various graphs to illustrate the recent trends in the data.

Consider a medical example.  A series of medical tests are given to a patient.  Some of the tests indicate that there is a problem, some indicate everything is fine and some are inconclusive.  In a similar manner,  do not expect all of the data to exhibit warming trends in the Lincoln climate data.  However, significant warming is evident in the analysis of much of the data.  Click thorough the links and discover an open, unbiased, review of all of the Lincoln climate data.  That is, examples of a lack of climate warming and  lack of increased variability are also included in this report.

All of the data on this page are from the official NWS data archives for Lincoln, NE
